Modeling the 5D Digital Twin Model through Ontological Formalization

This study formalizes the fundamental concepts and interactions of the entities composing the five-dimensional (5D) Digital Twin (DT) conceptual model, which serves as the foundation of our research, through rigorous ontological structuring. This formalization aims to reinforce semantic coherence and reduce epistemic and/or ambiguity uncertainties related to the understanding of the conceptual model. The objective is to place the bases for a more generic, formally defined, and structurally consistent architecture of DTs. This approach is supported by a systematic literature review following the PRISMA methodology.
