Line 3: Manufacturing processes, performance and steering of poly-articulated systems

The laboratory develops tools, models and protocols allowing the qualification, the optimization of performances and the piloting of poly-articulated systems intended for 3D measurement and manufacturing. Multi-sensor / multi-scale in-situ measurement processes will be developed for monitoring and automated modification of manufacturing processes.

This work will mainly build on existing experimental platforms, namely the SLM additive manufacturing cell, the high-speed 5-axis machining center and the robotic cell. This will be completed as part of the FAPS project to implement additive manufacturing processes (deposition of metal wire by laser fusion) subtractive by machining and polishing, and in-situ measurement. Our efforts will have to be maintained in order to have sufficient qualified personnel to operate these instruments.
