Topic 2: Numerical models for the specification and control of geometric variations of products

This axis integrates on the one hand the geometrical tolerance through multi-physical models aimed at predicting, via simulation, the deviations of the geometry of the parts and their influence on the assemblies. On the other hand it integrates the conceptualization for the twinning between the virtual and the real.

LURPA works on the implementation of engineering tolerance rupture research projects (new models of representation and treatment of geometry and uncertainties, geometric learning and interoperability, hybrid geometric modelers), projects strongly supported by the Sino-French Tolerancing and Assembly Innovation Center (Sino-French Tolerancing and Assembly Innovation Center) created in 2018 under the leadership of ENS Paris-Saclay and the University of Zhejiang.

LURPA is the major French player in this initiative.
